Anyone can do reupholstering all you need are the right tools and supplies. We can supply the tools, supplies, but you will need to do the work. You first must strip the old fabric off and inspect the springs. You may have to retie the springs in eight directions. We do carry jute spring cord for this operation. If the springs are in tact then you can precede to recover. The secret is to keep the old pieces of fabric and use them as templates for cutting out the new fabric. Always measure twice and cut once. Take your time and observe how your processor did the job.
We carry ten (10) grades of "High Density" Foam Rubber from Super-Soft to Extra-Firm. If you need to replace the foam, you will have to make that decision. All foam rubber comes in full and half sheets. We can special order any size or thickness. A new mattress for hide-a-beds, boats, and residential homes are available. We carry in stock half inch foam up to six inches. However, you can order foam rubber up to twelve inches thick. All foam rubber is sold by board-foot.
If buttons are needed we can make them in most sizes from the fabric that you are applying. The cost of each button depends upon the size. The smallest button size is 1/2" while the largest is 1 & 1/2"
If you need Polyester Dacron for additional padding or seedless Cotton, we carry both. Decorative nails, Staples and Tacks of various sizes will probably be needed. You may need a staple puller, scissors, hammer, pliers, and of course a sewing machine that can sew several thicknesses. It is best to elevate the chair or couch to a comfortable level such as placing it on horses.
We can make "Single and Double Welt" (cording) in various sizes depending upon the application. Gimp is also available in a multitude of colors to enhance your fabric. Fringes are also available. Webbing may be necessary to replace and we carry several sizes and styles for most applications. European webbing is a must for special furniture styles.
If you need a foam or fabric spray adhesive which is fast tacking with high strength and high temperature resistance up to 145 degrees but not recommended for automobile headliners. This adhesive bonds to foam rubber, paper, glass, cardboard, cloth, wood, galvanized sheet metal, fiber glass and carpeting.
You will probably need a zipper to close the cushions. We carry in stock nylon and aluminum zippers of various sizes and colors. We can usually cut them at any length. We also carry heavy duty boat double pull nylon zippers to be used on canvas and vinyl products.
